Speech Theme:

How Can You Light Up The World Using The Four Way Test?

Eligibility

Contest is open to all high school students (9th-12th Grade) in the Davis, Woodland, and Winters areas and is supported by all Rotary Clubs in those communities.

Rules

Prepare a speech (5-7 minutes, word processed) that illustrates and illuminates the four points of the Rotary Four-Way Test. The test is:

 

Is it the TRUTH?
Is it FAIR to all concerned?
Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?

 

  1. The four points should be well connected to the speech theme.
  2. Make sure that the speech is well developed and has a logical flow.
  3. Submit the speech, and if you are selected, present it to the Davis Sunset Rotary Club.
  4. Refer to the Judge’s Score Sheet for further guidelines.

Prizes

There will be six (6) finalists seleted to read their speech at the Local Contest on April 1, 2015. Top prize is $300, other finalist with receive $100 each. Winner moves on to District Contest Finals May 2, 2015 in Vallejo, CA:to compete for $,1000 prize

Finalists will be notified by March 25, 2015 and the Local Contest will take place in Davis, CA on April 1, 2015
